Powder and crack forms of cocaine are easily available and commonly abused in the state of Wisconsin. In the state, purity level of heroin is as high as 95%. This high level of purity gives users the option of snorting the drug, which in turn made the drug popular among the youth.

Marijuana is extensively available all over Wisconsin. Mexican type is the predominant type. Domestically cultivated marijuana is also obtainable to a lesser extent. Cannabis cultivation, both outdoor and indoor, has deep roots throughout the state. Open-air markets, housing projects, and residences are the common selling places.

Availability and abuse of methamphetamine pose a growing threat to Wisconsin. Mexico, California, and southwestern states are the major sources of Methamphetamine available in the state. Among the club drugs, MDMA, GHB, and LSD are increasing threats to the state. These drugs are popular among teenagers and young adults and sold widely at raves and dance clubs. Diversion and abuse of controlled substances remain a significant problem in the state. Commonly diverted prescription drugs include dilaudid, nubain, Vicodin (hydrocodone), ritalin, OxyContin, codeine combination products, benzodiazepines, and the anorectic drugs phentermine, and phendimetrazie.
